Why attend an Offer-Holder Visit Day?

If you’ve received an offer from the University of Birmingham, you’re now one step closer to joining our community. But before making your final decision, you might be wondering, what’s next? That’s where Offer-Holder Days come in. These events are designed to give you a look at life at Birmingham, helping you feel confident about your choice. 

How to register for your Offer-Holder Visit Day

If you are a home student and hold an offer to study at Birmingham, your department will invite you to register via an email invitation shortly after receiving your offer. This will include a link to book your place on a date and time that suits you. You will spend half the day with your subject and the other half of the day exploring campus and accommodation. 

What to expect at your Offer-Holder Visit Day

  1. Explore our Medical School and campus: Discover our Medical School and explore the beautiful Edgbaston campus, one of the largest in the UK, during our Offer-Holder Days. It’s the ideal chance to get become familiar with where you’ll be studying this September!
  2. Subject-specific sessions: You’ll get a chance to attend subject-specific talks, taster sessions, and Q&A panels with lecturers and students.
  3. Meet staff and students: Have questions about your course? This is your chance to talk to academics and student ambassadors to get an insight into what studying at Birmingham is like.
  4. Campus and accommodation tours: Explore your future home with tours of our three student villages; Pritchatts Park Village, Selly Oak Village, the Vale Village.
  5. Student Experience Fair and support services: Beyond your subject, you’ll have access to a Student Experience Fair, where you can find out more about student societies, support services, careers advice, and wellbeing resources.

  1. See if Birmingham is the right for you: This is your chance to get a feel for the campus, teaching style, and student atmosphere to see if it’s where you want to spend the next few years.
  2. Meet your future coursemates: You might meet other students who’ll be in your course, perfect for building connections before you even start.
  3. Boost your confidence about university life: Moving to university is a big step! Visiting beforehand helps ease nerves, familiarise you with the campus, and give you a clearer idea of what to expect in September.
