Why Birmingham is a good place for international students

As an international student, leaving my home country and studying in a place where I have never been before is the biggest decision that I have made.

As an international student, leaving my home country and studying in a place where I have never been before is the biggest decision that I have made. Choosing Birmingham was my family's intention in the beginning, but after I found out that the University of Birmingham provides a course in Psychology in Education, it caught my eye as I have a deep interest in this subject, so Birmingham has also become my first choice very soon.

I had never been to Birmingham before and even the UK, so I was worried but also excited before my arrival. Luckily, things went more smoothly than I expected, and as I arrived in August, the weather was great which made everything better (cover photos were taken by me during my first visit :)). The thing that I was not used to in the beginning was food here, however, I started to cook by myself and found some good restaurants (e.g. P4: Albert's Schloss- for Western cuisine, P5: Hong Kong Dining Restaurant- for Hong Kong cuisine), it is much better now.

And the thing that I love the most about Birmingham would be the transport, as there are a variety of choices, such as tram, bus and train. I mostly travel on buses as many places have bus networks, which is convenient. Also, as a student, you could buy a monthly pass which can save you lots of money.

It takes time to fit into a new environment but I think Birmingham is one of the best places for newcomers as here contains a variety of cultures, also with a nice environment, Birmingham is always my first choice.
