Why I love living in Birmingham

Living in Birmingham is the best!

Birmingham city centre in Slow Mo, Bus, Bullring and Cars

I am born and bred in Birmingham, and I love it here as it is very diverse.

What I adore most about Birmingham is the delicious cuisine that allows me to indulge in various cultural foods. My favourite places to eat are for example Miss Korea and Yakinori, both affordable with amazing food! I’d highly recommend the chicken katsu with jasmine rice which I order every time. My favourite breakfast place is Lekker Cafe because I love their breakfast, especially the English breakfast, as it is filling. I enjoy being a student because I can take advantage of the discounts offered at many restaurants and shops, which helps me save money.

I quite love to regularly visit the Silent Book Club in Birmingham, as this provides socialising with friends, and I also get to have some me time during the quiet hour. When I want to play boards games, my fave place to go is Chance and Counters at the Custard Factory in Digbeth, where you can play and eat. And my favourite board game there is Ludo King.

I also love going to Star City as it’s always really fun. It’s got numerous restaurants, games, rides, cinemas and more to cater all your entertainment needs including the arcade, bowling and laser tagging which I love playing.

Hands down what I like to do the most in Birmingham when I get some free time is catching a movie at the cinema and particularly at the Everyman cinema at the Mailbox, in the city centre. The seats are so comfortable, pretty much like a sofa, and you have a little table on the side where you can put your food. I love to get the nachos from there with the cheese and salsa sauce. This cinema is quite special to me because I always spend time with my friends there to create memories and even though some of them have moved out to another city, it's always fond memories to look back one when I go there.

Lastly, Birmingham is really easy to get round to by simply getting taxis, buses, trains, and trams, which are all very accessible. Personally, I find taking a taxi to university very easy because they can drop you off exactly where you need to go.

Based on my own experiences, I highly recommend Birmingham for its vibrant social life.
