What’s changing in your law degree

We need to let you know about some important changes to the information we have previously shared with you on your programme factsheets. This is because we recently reviewed and updated our assessment methods for our LLB programmes. Don't worry, these changes are designed to help you by giving you a wider range of assessment types.

LLB Law

  • Year 1: assessments will be 42% coursework and 58% written exam (previously 30% coursework and 70% written exam)
  • Year 2: assessments will be 78% coursework and 22% written exam (previously 21.67% coursework and 78.33% written exam)
  • Year 3: assessments will be 70% coursework and 30% written exam (previously 75% coursework and 25% written exam)

LLB Law with Criminology

  • Year 1: no change
  • Year 2: assessments will be 67.5% coursework and 32.5% written exam (previously 25% coursework and 75% written exam)
  • Year 3: assessment will be 70% coursework and 30% written exam (previously 75% coursework and 25% written exam)

LLB Law with Business

  • Year 1: assessments will be 12.5% coursework and 87.5% written exam (previously 87.5% coursework and 12.5% written exam)
  • Year 2: assessments will be 67.5% coursework and 32.5% written exam (previously 75% coursework and 25% written exam)
  • Year 3: assessment will be 70% coursework and 30% written exam (previously 75% coursework and 25% written exam)

LLB International Law and Globalisation

  • Year 1: assessments will be 42% coursework and 58% written exam (previously 40% coursework and 60% written exam)
  • Year 2: assessments will be 78% coursework and 22% written exam (previously 38.33% coursework and 61.67% written exam)
  • Year 3: assessments will be 90% coursework and 10% written exam (previously 65% coursework and 35% written exam)

LLB Law with French Law

  • Year 1: assessments will be 14% coursework and 86% written exam (previously 12.5 % coursework and 87.5% written exam)
  • Year 2: assessments will be 42% coursework and 58% written exam (previously 21.67% coursework and 78.33% written exam)
  • Year 3: no change
  • Year 4: assessment will be 70% coursework and 30% written exam (previously 75% coursework and 25% written exam)

LLB Law with German Law

  • Year 1: assessments will be 14% coursework and 86% written exam (previously 12.5 % coursework and 87.5% written exam)
  • Year 2: assessments will be 42% coursework and 58% written exam (previously 10% coursework and 90% written exam)
  • Year 3: no change
  • Year 4: assessment will be 70% Coursework and 30% exams (previously 75% and 25%)

LLB for Graduates

  • Year 1: assessments will be 37% coursework and 63% written exam (previously 35% coursework and 65% written exam)
  • Year 2: assessments will be 85% coursework and 15% written exam (previously 60% coursework and 40% written exam)
