About The Exchange

The Exchange is the University’s city-centre venue, based in the historic municipal bank in Birmingham’s Centenary Square.

Our public programme of free exhibitions, events and family-friendly activities, welcomes everyone to join in the University’s efforts to understand and tackle today’s complex challenges. We explore vital topics like clean air, adult social care, and AI, making meaningful connections between academic research and communities.

The Exchange is more than a building: it’s a welcoming hub for community involvement and collaborations. Beyond its walls, The Exchange is a place for academics, communities, and policymakers to come together to discuss and amplify important issues and initiatives, and to showcase the diversity and vibrancy of our city and region.
