Our City, Your Promise

The University of Birmingham celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2025. To mark the occasion, The Exchange hosted University leaders as they signed a renewed civic agreement with Birmingham. Inspired by this momentous occasion, we invited visitors to The Exchange across our programme to make their own promises to the city. Can we pledge to eat well? Drive safely? Submit our homework on time? Support local businesses? Or perhaps something more personal that matters most to you? No matter your age, background, or what you do - whether you’re working, retired, studying, job-hunting, or something entirely different - we welcomed the citizens of Birmingham to share their civic promises.
