Part of Unlocking the Vaults, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this collection revisits artist Elly Clarke’s oral history Project, Half Crowns in Their Petticoats, featuring oral histories recorded in 2012/13 by Elly and additional oral histories recorded in 2025. The collection explores memories, histories, and personal connections to the Birmingham Municipal Bank, the head office of which has been redeveloped as The Exchange, the University of Birmingham’s city-centre home.
