Hamid Dehghani, Professor of Medical Imaging, University of Birmingham, has been elected as a Fellow Member of The Optical Society (OSA) at the Society’s September 2017 Board of Directors meeting.

Hamid Dehghani, Professor of Medical Imaging at the University of Birmingham, has been elected as a Fellow Member of The Optical Society (OSA) at the Society's September 2017 Board of Directors meeting.

Professor Dehghani is being honored for his leadership in the development of computational tools for diffuse optical tomography and spectroscopy, and training of scientists in biomedical imaging applications in neuroscience, cancer, and molecular probes.
Fellow membership in OSA is limited to no more than ten percent of the association and is reserved for members who have served with distinction in the advancement of optics and photonic, making the process both highly selective and competitive.
