Fotis is currently working on an EU project called EMOTE as a research fellow which aims to improve the use of artificial tutors as learning-facilitator tools in schools (www.emote-project.eu). Previously, he was a Research Assistant on another EU project called LIREC which explored the cohabitation of humans and artificial intelligent companions in domestic environments.

Phil has recently submitted his thesis for a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University. Previously he worked as a UNIX and storage systems administrator, systems engineer, systems integrator, analyst programmer.

Project Manager – EMOTE

EMOTE aims to improve the use of artificial tutors as learning-facilitator tools. These platforms still fail to engage the students the same way a teacher does, as they lack the personal, empathy elements. Prior to joining the University Amy worked in research and project management in the private/charity sector, specialising in the field of equality and human rights.
