The School of Mathematics has made a number of excellent appointments over the past couple of months:

Dr Maria Carmen Reguera
Birmingham Fellow

Reguera

Dr Reguera is a Birmingham Fellow and a member of the Mathematical Analysis Research Group in the School of Mathematics.

Maria works on harmonic analysis and especially on the theory of weighted inequalities for singular integral operators. She is also interested in related questions in operator theory for Bergman spaces and geometric analysis.

Dr Andrew Treglown
Birmingham Fellow

Treglown

Dr Treglown is a Birmingham Fellow at the University of Birmingham. His research interests lie in combinatorics, particularly in probabilistic and extremal graph theory. Previously he held Research Fellowships at Queen Mary, University of London and Charles University, Prague. He was awarded a PhD from the University of Birmingham in July 2011 for his thesis 'Embedding problems in graphs and hypergraphs' which was supervised by Daniela Kühn and Deryk Osthus.

Other appointments include:

  • Dr Mohammad Adbullah, Research Fellow
  • Mr Ben Barber, Research Fellow
  • Dr Fintan Hegarty, Research Fellow
  • Ms Marina Iliopoulou, Research Fellow
  • Dr Mykhaylo Tyomkyn, Research Fellow
  • Dr Alexandra Tzella, Lecturer in Applied Mathematics
