On Tuesday 9 June 2015 the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences held the second annual EPS Societies’ Awards.  Almost 300 nominations were received from both staff and students across the College for our 17 societies and their members, recognising the outstanding work of the EPS students over the year.

The night saw 200 guests celebraring with a three course dinner, and live entertainment from Charlie and the Funk Factory, a student-run jazz band. Master of ceremonies Professor Nick Green, Director of the University's new High Temperature Research Centre, was an great host and presented the 10 award-winners with their trophies.

A charity raffle was held to raise money for research conducted into child brain cancer here in the University's School of Cancer Sciences. Over £1,000 was raised for the cause, allowing the EPS Societies to proudly say they have funded two life-changing brain scans for children with cancer.
