Hi everyone!
EPS Mixed Netball are a fun social netball team made up of all years and subjects from the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. We train weekly and play in matches in the campus league. This year we’ve had new members join which has been very exciting, and there’s always have room for more!
This year has seen the revival of many more social events for the team – and there is something for everyone. We’ve made sure to have a few trips to the pub after training which has been great in helping the team get to know each other off the court as well as on it. Recently, we had our team Christmas Dinner at Toby Carvery! Our final session of the year consisted of a mini tournament in Christmas-themed fancy dress with chocolate prizes for the winners. Next term we’re looking forward to more socials with a takeaway night already in the planning.
Due to our success in many of the campus matches and our progression to the semi-finals last year, we’ve moved up a league this year. We’re enjoying the challenge of facing some much tougher teams and there have been some very close matches!
This year has been full of excitement and we’ve gained funding from the College Student Culture Fund to further develop our team. We intend to use this to update our kit and have already ordered new netball bibs with the EPS logo on, new balls, pumps and whistles. We’re also intending to buy personalised team t-shirts to unite us even more.
We plan to start the New Year with another taster session much like we did at the start of the first term, so we hope to see some new faces there. We train on Tuesdays at 7pm on the outdoor netball courts if anyone would like to come and join us.
