Every year, during the month of June the LGTBQ+ communities celebrate Pride all around the world. This week’s post as part of CoSS Wellbeing Weekly we wanted to celebrate Pride with you, where most events will be taking place this coming weekend.

The Team have provided some information below about how to celebrate Pride whilst social distancing and where support can be accessed.

  • Stonewall - Information and support for LGBT communities and their allies. Contact Stonewall's Information Service FREEPHONE 0800 0502020 Lines are open 9:30 - 4:30 Monday to Friday.
  • Kooth are raising awareness and support this month for young people from the LGBTQ+ community. Kooth is a transformational digital mental health support service. It gives young people easy access to an online community of peers and a team of experienced counsellors.
  • The LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer) Association aims to represent those who consider themselves to have a minority sexual/romantic orientation and/or gender identity. - https://www.facebook.com/UoB.LGBTQ/
  • To celebrate Pride Month and support the #BlackLivesMatter movement, Guild President Joshua has written a blog celebrating Black LGBTQ Heroes. Pride itself started out as a movement of protests, so read Joshua's blog about some of the Heroes who fought sexual, gender and racial injustices: bit.ly/3ehfTNy
