The inaugural HEFi Awards were held at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens on 8th February. Over 80 members of staff from across the University attended to celebrate a range of outstanding achievements in teaching over the last 12 months including peer nominations for excellence, innovation and leadership, the award of Birmingham Education Fellowships, success in PCAP and achieving fellowship of the HEA through the Beacon Scheme. Hosted by Professor Kathy Armour, and with speeches from Dr Marios Hadjianastasis, Dr Tzany Kokalova Wheldon, and Professor Prem Kumar the dinner was a celebration of teaching excellence at Birmingham and will become an annual event.
