Levelling Up

The University of Birmingham's Levelling Up programme is an online tutoring and mentoring opportunity for Year 12 students in STEM subjects. It is for school students currently in Year 12 and from a range of under-represented groups in higher education.

For the 3rd year, the College of EPS at UoB is running a project to offer free online A level tuition provided by current UG and PG students to 6th form pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds.

This is done in mathematics, physics and chemistry and supports the participating pupils to apply to study STEM subjects at university.

The programme will run weekly for the next 9 months.

The Levelling Up Mathematics programme, now operates in Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics. The programme partners with professional bodies to mentor students from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds through A-level Mathematics.
