Student ID card and Proof of Study

Your student ID card proves that you are a student at the University and gives you access to buildings and services including Meal Plan and the Library. You can also access documents to prove your student status, if needed.

Getting your ID card

You need to complete Online Registration (including uploading a suitable photo) before you can get your student ID card.

Any student who does not yet have an ID card can collect one from the Welcome Registration Hub.

Welcome Registration Hub

The Welcome Registration Hub will open 10:00-16:00 on Arrivals Weekend (Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September), and then 09:00-16:30 weekdays until Thursday 5 October.

I was expecting my ID card in the post, but it's not arrived?

If your ID card has been held up in the post or doesn't arrive by the time you get to campus, you will be able to get a replacement. Just head to the Welcome Registration Hub - remember to bring a form of ID.

Getting a proof of study letter

A proof of study letter confirms your student status at the University, for example to be used when opening a student bank account or applying for council tax exemption. Both new and returning students can view, download and share these online.

Returning students

Your ID card is valid throughout your programme, so you don't need to request a new card unless yours is lost, damaged, or the information on it has changed. If you need to request a new ID card for one of these reasons, you can use the online request form.
