Birmingham is 87th in this year’s QS World University Rankings, maintaining our position in the top 100 universities globally and placing us as 13th amongst UK universities.
The World University Rankings, Times Higher Education
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings ranked Birmingham 112th out of 1,400 universities across the globe, and 13th out of the 100 UK universities ranked. The rankings use 13 performance indicators to provide a comprehensive and balanced comparison between institutions.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University World Rankings
Shanghai Jiao Tong University World Rankings ranked Birmingham as being in the top 101 – 150 (calculated rank 124th) out of 500 universities, establishing us as 11th out of the 36 UK universities to appear in the top 500.
US News and World Report: Best Global Universities
We are ranked 92nd in the world out of more than 1,500 universities across 81 other countries that are considered in the table, and 10th out of the 87 UK universities ranked.
Center for World University Rankings
The University is also classed as a Top 100 institution by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), which rates Birmingham 78th out of 2,000 global universities.
CWUR publishes the largest rankings of global universities – analysing quality of education, alumni employment, quality of academic staff and research performance – and places equal emphasis on research and learning environment.
