
Physics EDI help

If you have either experienced or witnessed harassment within the school, there is detailed information on what to do and who to contact on the School One Stop Shop on Canvas (under the heading Wellbeing; and Harassment, bullying and victimisation). You may:
- Contact the school's Wellbeing Officers, via email at physicswelfare@contacts.bham.ac.uk or via the Wellbeing Information for Physics & Astronomy Students Canvas page.

Contact the Employee Advice and Support Services via phone +44 (0) 121 415 8774 or email harassment@contacts.bham.ac.uk. This service operates with a strict confidentiality policy and work in accordance with the university policy on harassment and bullying.
- For immediate emotional support, contact the 24/7 workplace wellness helpline via phone at +44 (0) 800 1116 38.

If sexual harassment or assault has occurred, further and more immediate options are available on the university sexual assault information page .
- If you feel that you or others are at risk or consider the situation to be an emergency, you can call the police or an ambulance on 999.
- If you are in University accommodation or on campus it is advisable to call security on +44 (0) 121 414 4444, to let them know that the emergency services have been called so that they can give them access.
- If it is not an emergency but you still want to report the incident to the police you can call West Midlands Police on 101. You can request to talk to the Rape Investigation Team directly.

- You can also email the School’s EDI Lead, Professor Cristina Lazzeroni (C.Lazzeroni@bham.ac.uk), or the Head of School (Bill Chaplin, w.j.chaplin@bham.ac.uk) directly. Please also do not hesitate to chat directly to either Cristina or Bill.
- You may prefer to discuss informally with a member of staff you trust, e.g. your line manager or project supervisor/lead, your Head of Group, or another colleague, and ask them to discuss with Cristina and/or Bill
- If you wish to speak to someone outside of Physics, you can contact Kat Grover (K.L.Grover@bham.ac.uk), Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Officer for EPS.
