Equipment and Resources for Schools
The School of Physics and Astronomy has a range of equipment that we can give to schools as a loan (duration of loan to be agreed). These include:
- Cosmic Ray Telescopes for schools – cosmic ray telescopes can be loaned from the Particle Physics Research Group, together with teacher's pack and students pack to help in setting up experiments and ideas for data collection/projects in class.
- Cloud Chambers for schools - school visits with cloud chambers and a spark chamber can be organised, from the Particle Physics Research Group, together with help in setting up experiments and ideas for data collection/projects in class. A new cloud chamber manual (pdf )is now available; this was completed by our former student Bethany Allison during her Ogden internship in July 2018.
Please contact the Physics Outreach Team, physics.outreach@contacts.bham.ac.uk, to arrange any of the above.

Alumnus Alice Perry completed an Ogden Internship in the department. During her internship, Alice created a set of resources which can be used in the teaching of the H-R Diagram in GCSE Astronomy or A-level Physics. You can download these resources from the list below:
