On 12 May 2012, 70 current and past students of the Shakespeare Institute came together in Stratford-upon-Avon to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Institute.

On a glorious Saturday afternoon, guests were treated to a panel discussion between the author Rosalind Miles, Tracy Irish of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and Stanley Wells CBE, Shakespeare scholar and former director of the Institute. These three distinguished alumni of the Institute considered the topic of “Six decades in the Shakespeare business”.

Guests then took part in a lively and fun Shakespeare quiz, led by current Institute lecturers Dr Martin Wiggins and Dr Erin Sullivan. Professor Michael Dobson, Director of the Institute, led toasts and everyone raised a glass to the 60th birthday of their Institute, before cutting the birthday cake and enjoying a glass of bubbly in the sunshine.
