Believed to represent the largest leadership development investment in the history of the NHS, HSMC’s NHS Leadership Academy programmes (‘Elizabeth Garrett Anderson’ and ‘Nye Bevan’) have won international recognition for their use of ‘blended learning.’  A significant part of both programmes is delivered via an innovative ‘virtual campus’, with learning derived from a mix of online material, face-to-face residentials and projects undertaken in the workplace.

This approach has recently received a Bronze award in the Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards in the category of ‘Best Use of Blended Learning’. This is a globally recognised and highly prestigious award in both learning technologies and talent development, and is testament to the hard work and dedication of HSMC and its consortium partners (including KPMG, Manchester Business School, National Voices and LEO) in creating such an exciting and effective learning platform for leadership development.  Other winners include leading multi-national companies such as Shell, LinkedIn and Johnson and Johnson (see Use of Blended Learning).
