Akehurst's Modern Introduction to International Law

Dr Alexander Orakhelashvili has been contracted by Routledge to take over updating and editing Akehurst's Modern Introduction to International Law, one of the main textbooks in international law.

Birmingham Law School's Dr Alexander Orakhelashvili has been contracted by Routledge Publishers to produce the latest edition of Akehurst’s Modern Introduction to International Law.

This textbook, originally written by a leading British international law scholar Michael Akehurst, has for decades been one of the principal textbooks of international law in the UK and worldwide. The textbook is renowned for its clear structure and accessible style. Since the death of Michael Akehurst in the 1980s, the textbook has been updated by Professor Peter Malanczuk. Dr Orakhelashvili will take over for the eighth edition which is due to be completed and published in 2018.
