Academics from the Health Services Management Centre shared the centre’s latest research into integrated health and social care with delegates from across the world at the 17th International Conference on Integrated Care earlier this month.

Dr Robin Miller and Professor Judith Smith presented at the event, which was attended by over 1,000 academics, clinicians, patients and policy makers with an interest in understanding and improving integration in health and social care.

They presented insights from the Policy Innovation Research Unit (PIRU) funded evaluation of the Integrated Care Pioneers scheme. This national programme aspires to encourage the ‘most ambitious and visionary’ local areas within the health sector to become integration Pioneers which will drive change ‘at scale and pace, from which the rest of the country can benefit’.

Robin was also one of the leaders of the Integrated Care Academy on the first day of the conference, providing an overview of integrated care for those new to this area of study.
