Electron microscopy and processing of titanium alloys – a conference to celebrate Professor Mike Loretto's contribution to science

For 70 years Mike Loretto published world-class research, initially on stored energy, then transmission electron microscopy and latterly on advanced processing. For much of this time he was interested in titanium and its alloys. To celebrate Mike’s contribution to science we are organising a conference on the electron microscopy and processing of titanium alloys.

The conference will take place in Birmingham on Thursday May 12th to Friday May 13th, 2022. There will be a small registration charge of £75. Discounted accommodation will be available.

There will be a conference dinner on the Friday evening. On Saturday there will be an opportunity to meet some of Mike’s family and to reminisce about the idiosyncratic and productive life of an inspiring scientist who often held and expressed trenchant views.
