Matthew Steinfeld, who recently completed his PhD in ITSEE, has become New Testament / Early Christianity Acquisitions Editor with Gorgias Press.

Matthew Steinfeld recently completed a PhD thesis in ITSEE on The Text of Romans, Second Corinthians, and Galatians in the Writings of Origen of Alexandria which was supervised by Dr H A G Houghton and partially supported by the ERC-funded COMPAUL Project. He successfully negotiated his viva in December last year when his examiners were Professor Thomas O'Loughlin from the University of Nottingham and Professor David Parker.

Gorgias Press, which was founded by George Kiraz in 2001 and is based in the United States, is an independent academic publisher of books and peer-reviewed journals covering several areas related to religious studies, the world of ancient western Asia, classics, and Middle Eastern studies. It also produces reprints of rare and otherwise difficult to access resources in these fields. Gorgias Press publications include Early Readers, Scholars and Editors of the New Testament (ed. 2014 by H A G Houghton in the Texts and Studies series) which presents the papers from the Eighth Birmingham Colloquium on the Textual Criticism of the New Testament including Matthew's preliminary research into Origen's text of Galatians for his PhD thesis.

From Autumn 2016, Matthew will also be taking up a position as Assistant Professor of Theology at the LLC International University in Klaipéda, Lithuania.
