The University of Birmingham has launched a new interdisciplinary hub for training and educating leaders in health and social care, and conducting research into leadership and management within these sectors.

The Centre is a collaborative venture between the College of Social Sciences and the College of Medical and Dental Sciences at the University. HSMC has been central to its development and will continue to play a central role in its coordination.

The new Centre for Health & Social Care Leadership will initially focus on four themes - patient and community leadership, clinical leadership, organisational leadership and system leadership. Theme leads have been appointed to take forward these aspects, and will work closely with the Co-Directors of the Centre (Professor Judith Smith and Dr Robin Miller). Iain Snelling and Belinda Weir from HSMC are the respective leads for clinical and system leadership.
