This book is a major output from the European Research Council-funded COMPAUL project. It is the first collation of the Old Latin material for Romans, 1&2 Corinthians and Galatians since Sabatier's ground-breaking volumes published in 1751. Since then many new manuscripts have been identified, and the writings of early Christian authors have been edited and reconstructed to modern scholarly standards. The sources now comprise twenty-six Vetus Latina manuscripts, ten commentaries written between the fourth and sixth centuries and four early testimonia collections, whose text differs in many ways from the standard Vulgate version. The new collation will therefore become a standard resource in referring to this material.
The book itself is available to download in Open Access from the Brill website and UBIRA. The full-text electronic transcriptions on which it is based are freely available from Birmingham's edata website for Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians and Galatians and can also be viewed online at www.epistulae.org.
