Full-Scale Tests

Full-scale tests (i.e. measurements made around the actual University campus) are essential for validation of the physical and numerical simulations.

Pedestrian-level anemometer station 5These tests use a network of anemometers to measure the local wind speed and an anemometer sited on the Muirhead Tower to measure a reference wind speed which allows mapping of simulations to the full-scale data. Advanced accelerometer and gyroscope systems, supplied by Gait-Up, are used to monitor the movement of participants in the pedestrian and cyclist tests
