“Will there be life after Brexit? European law in the UK after March 2019”

Speaker: Ian Forrester, QC, Judge at the General Court of the European Union

Ian Forrester, QC, LLD, graduated from Glasgow University and Tulane University, Louisiana, took silk in 1988, and was appointed as a judge of the General Court of the European Union in 2015. He has enjoyed a distinguished career, during which he has also been a member of the New York State Bar, the Bar of England and Wales, and the Brussels Bar, and has conducted many cases before the EU Courts and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. His many competition cases include acting for UEFA in the landmark Bosman case on the transfer of football players in the EU. However, in his IEL Annual Lecture, Judge Ian Forrester will address issues relating to Brexit and its effect on European law in the United Kingdom.
