She was a personal mentor for doctors in difficulty in the Midlands until 2016, a scheme supported by the West Midlands Deanery and RCGP Midland Faculty. She continues to provide personal mentoring to a range of colleagues. Helen was the Head of Primary Care Teaching (undergraduate) in the Medical School of the University of Birmingham until becoming RCGP Chair.

The event will open with a session by the MDS Research Support & Development Team who will provide an overview of the support they provide to help clinical academic trainees take their next steps and secure funding opportunities.  They will also talk about the funding schemes available and answer any questions. The keynote session will be followed by a number of short presentations from some of our brightest West Midlands Clinical Academic Trainees.

Finally, the event will end with a networking drinks reception and poster session, where you will have the opportunity to talk with a range of senior academics and event attendees.
