Aims and objectives:

Clinical research make up a considerable part of the University’s life sciences research. They are unique in the way they are set up and managed, and require a level of institutional oversight. In this session we will define what clinical research is. We will discuss the regulations, standards and who the stakeholders are. We will also focus on support, oversight and compliance issues.

Target audience:

You will be a member of professional services staff or a researcher involved in clinical research being run at UoB, and you would like to gain a better understanding of the different types of clinical research and the support available. Registration is required to attend this training course.  Please note this training course is only open to University of Birmingham Staff and PhD Students.

Why this course?

This course will separate the different types of clinical research and provide clarity over where support can be found. Attendees will participate in workshops that will consolidate their learning and allow time to reflect on their own practices.
