Our Partners

We are working with 4 partner countries and the International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG) 

The UoB research team will provide oversight, research method design and training.

The partner countries will be responsible for conduct and delivery of agreed research projects and linking with policy makers to embed findings into local services.

The IPCRG will facilitate collaboration and dissemination through hosting of international meetings and liaising with other countries through their established network.

Dr Aldo Agra (Pulmonologist, São Bernardo do Campo) works in the tobacco treatment and COPD outpatient clinic of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Unit of the Federal University of São Paulo. He is currently a doctoral student as well as a Sub Investigator in Clinical Research.

Professor KK Cheng is Director of the Institute of Applied Health Research, University of Birmingham. He is also Director of the General Practice Development and Research Center, Peking University Health Science Center. He has been Professor at the University of Birmingham since 1995. His main interests are in the epidemiology, prevention and control of important non-communicable diseases, and the development of primary care in China.

Professor Jaime Correia de Sousa

Assistant Professor Jaime Correia de Sousa (Associate Professor and Chair of the Community Health Department in the School of Medicine at the University of Minho, Portugal). He is a family physician in Porto and is the former Chair of the Portuguese Primary Care Respiratory Group. Jaime is also President of the International Primary Care Respiratory Group.
