The SiblingGame project
SiblingGame is a research study for children (siblings) between 6 and 10 years of age who have a brother or sister with a learning disability, and their parents / carers.
We are doing research about an online ‘serious’ game that siblings play to help them work through their needs and experiences as a brother or sister of a child with learning disability.
We would like to find out if playing this game can improve siblings’ sense of wellbeing and help them in other ways and whether this game could be offered across the UK as a support resource for these siblings.
In the research, some siblings will get to play the game and some will not play the game but will be offered access to the game at the end of the study.
A serious game is a game played to support a learning goal rather than pure fun. A serious game uses challenges, games and quizzes in this case to help siblings learn life skills and to handle real life situations
