Concussion and Sports Injury Clinics at MoveWell

A free service available for any student athlete who has sustained a suspected sports related concussion.

Concussion triage takes place on a Monday 11:00 -13.00 and Thursday 12:00 -15:00 and will run during term time. Clinics will commence week of 15th September 2025.

A free student physiotherapy led service for University of Birmingham student athletes requiring Sports injury assessment.

Assessment and treatment through the student-led service will form part of the students’ Sports Physiotherapy Placement and will be supervised by clinical educators.

Assessments will take place on Mondays 09:00-13:00 and Thursdays 09:00 -12.00. Clinics will commence week of 22nd September.

As part of the Concussion Clinic, we are running an innovative concussion biomarker study, with a special focus on our female athletes.

The research aims to explore the potential of using saliva tests versus blood tests to identify markers of brain injury. This groundbreaking work positions our athletes at the forefront of concussion care and research, enhancing our approach to athlete health and safety.
