Education and Capacity Building

Our studies are delivered through equal partnership with local researchers, communities and key stakeholders. We also incorporate activities to build research capacity in the countries where our research takes place, which contributes to improving the health and lives of local people in the long-term.

The Global Health Impact Hub also provides training, networking and support for global health researchers at UoB and our partner organisations. See our events page for more information on forthcoming and previous workshops and seminars.

Over 10,000 students in more than 150 low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) have studied with the University of Birmingham, including formal PhD and Masters degrees as well as informal and experiential capacity-building within our research programmes. Our own students and staff benefit from multidirectional learning whilst working alongside our LMIC partners.
