Patient and Public Involvement

Patient and public involvement is becoming increasingly important in your study design and study question especially for clinical studies involving the NHS and certain funders. The Birmingham Public Involvement Hub details fundamentals to consider (staff login required).

Birmingham Researcher

This section details resources, support and guidance regarding developing your research career at Birmingham.  

Childcare fund for Conference Attendance

The fund is primarily to allow attendance at conferences for individuals (normally with child caring responsibilities) who would otherwise be unable to attend. Staff members may apply for up to £500 support towards additional caring costs incurred as a result of attending essential conference(s), workshops, seminars and/or training in any given academic year (1 October – 30 September).

Parents and Carers Resources

The Staff Parents and Carers section on SharePoint brings together information and support on all aspects of family-related leave and support for staff. There is also the Parents and Carers' Network which has been set up to support and advocate University staff with parental and caring responsibilities.
