The Economist’s WhichMBA? 2015 Global Rankings have today been announced, confirming Birmingham Business School’s position in the top 100 with a placement of 89th globally and as one of the top UK and European MBA programmes, an improvement from last year’s position at 93 in the table.

This is an enviable position when compared against competitor Business Schools, with rankings putting us 14th in the UK and 30th in Europe for our full-time MBA.

The sector continues to experience a significant increase in competition from US, Asian and European schools which has led to significant movement across the rankings for a number of global Business Schools over the last few years. As a consequence of this ever-increasing competitive environment, Birmingham Business School are proud to consistently be included in the top 100 and to be one of only 15 UK Schools now featured in the Economist rankings.

Professor Simon Collinson, Dean of the School commented:

“In an increasingly tough MBA market, with new competitors in Europe and beyond, it is great to see Birmingham retain its place in the world top-100. This reflects the investment we have put into the programme in recent years and our continued approach to improving and tailoring our programmes to meet the needs of the changing global working environment. Our current programme of investment, in faculty, staff and programmes across the School will strengthen our position in this and other key rankings in the future."

Some of the factors considered for the rankings include new careers opportunities, with Birmingham ranked 78th in this area, above other high-profile institutions including Liverpool, Oxford and Durham. The School was also ranked highly in the salary category, coming out 89th overall and ranked 11th in the UK. For potential to network, the School was placed 69th overall and 9th in the UK, above the likes of Cambridge, Oxford, Liverpool, Bath and Nottingham.

Birmingham Business School offer a number of MBA programmes, including full-time, executive and online versions, as well as our overseas MBA with partners in Singapore. The School is one of only a handful of the world’s business schools to hold the gold standard of ‘triple-crown’ accreditation from the AACSB, the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).
