Birmingham Business School academic conferred as fellow of the academy of social sciences

We are delighted to announce that Mark NK Saunders, Professor of Business Research Methods, has been awarded a Fellowship of the Academy of Social Sciences.

The Academy is the national academy of academics, learned societies and practitioners in the social sciences. Fellows of the Academy are drawn from practitioners and policymakers as well as distinguished scholars across the social sciences.

After an extensive peer review process, Mark has been recognised for the impact of his work through the use of social science for public benefit. Professor Saunders is renowned for his contribution to methods research, human resource management and social science researcher development.

Mark’s research interests include methods for researching, in particular participant selection, and trust within and between organisations, and he is widely published on these topics. Mark holds visiting professorships at the universities of Birkbeck (London), Surrey and Worcester.

Professor Catherine Cassell, Dean of Birmingham Business School, commented, “I am delighted that Mark has been awarded this Fellowship. Mark has spent many years developing the careers of other social scientists, including numerous doctoral students here at Birmingham. This award rightly recognises and celebrates his exemplary contribution to the social sciences.”
