This international gathering of leading Shakespeare scholars is held every two years, in the summer.
About 180 members meet every other year to hear papers and participate in seminars on a chosen theme. Due to space limitations, membership is by invitation only. New invitations are issued to each conference through a nomination process that involves the full ISC membership (made up of some 500 academics who have attended the conference in recent years).
