Drs Steve Mayhew (pictured right) and Andy Bagshaw (pictured left) have been awarded £39,840 by the Birmingham-Nottingham Strategic Collaboration Fund to develop a collaborative project entitled ' Birmingham-Nottingham multimodal neuroimaging alliance: Understanding spatio-temporal brain network dynamics'.
This project will unite the multimodal neuroimaging expertise of researchers in the School of Psychology at the University of Birmingham and the Sir Peter Mansfield Magnetic Resonance Centre at the University of Nottingham to extend and accelerate our understanding of how neuronal network activity mediates brain function. It will make use of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), electroencephalography (EEG) and magnetoencephalography (MEG) to deepen our understanding of the neural origins of fMRI signals, develop techniques to combine these data and apply them to study brain network activity during somatosensory stimulation and in sleep.
