Your professional development
As a graduate trainee you’ll benefit from a two-year tailored development programme. Examples of some of your training you will complete include: project management, understanding leadership, decision making, leading change as well as 360 degree feedback and one-to-one coaching.
Throughout the scheme you will receive mentoring from a senior University director - an incredible opportunity which sets our training scheme apart from the rest. In an organisation of over 8000 staff you will be learning directly from someone at the top. In fact, by the end of the scheme you’ll find that you are on first name terms with many of the University’s leaders.
Support through the scheme
Each year we have up to five trainees joining our scheme. The small size of each cohort means that you’ll get to know each other well as you go through your training together and our trainees are a tight knit group. The smaller size also means that we can give you all the support you need at every step.
As well as your line manager, mentor and placement supervisors, we will pair you up with a trainee who has recently gone through it all and who can give you friendly advice over coffee or lunch.
