Every year we enter into agreements with private providers so that we can accommodate all of the students within our Freshers' Guarantee Scheme. Liberty Park is located on the doorstep of the University and provides a comfortable living option to first year undergraduates.
Rooms in these residences form part of the Scheme and students may be allocated these in their first year. You will be placed with other University of Birmingham students, in the same way as you would be in university-owned accommodation. Students also have access dedicated services such as Residents' Associations and the Student Mentor Scheme.
Liberty Park is located next to a wide range of local amenities. Less than 5 minutes’ walk from the residence you’ll conveniently find the Aldi supermarket, or even closer you have the option of a Tesco Express to grab all of your essentials.
Next to the residence is Bristol Road which offers many cafés, student bars and restaurants to choose from as well as affordable take away food shops.
If you're looking for some retail therapy you can take a taxi or jump on a train from either Selly Oak or University Station to The Bullring Shopping Centre, which offers a selection of over 160 stores. Alternatively, you can also find your favourite brands and shops in The Mailbox shopping centre, home to well-known fashion retailers such as Harvey Nichols.
Finally, you'll find that all of your utilities are included in your accommodation fees which makes budgeting that little bit easier. There are also laundry facilities, a large common room area and an on site Residence Team dedicated to supporting you during your stay at Liberty Park. The residences are also monitored by CCTV 24/7 meaning that you can feel comfortable and safe during your stay there.
