Liberty Court Birmingham

Every year we enter into agreements with private providers so that we can accommodate all of the students within our Freshers' Guarantee Scheme. Liberty Court is located by Cannon Hill Park and provides a comfortable living option to first year undergraduates.

Rooms in these residences form part of the Scheme and students may be allocated these in their first year. You will be placed with other University of Birmingham students, in the same way as you would be in university-owned accommodation. Students also have access dedicated services such as Residents' Associations and the Student Mentor Scheme.

Liberty Court is located next to a wide range of local amenities. Less than 5 minutes’ walk from the residence you’ll conveniently find the Aldi supermarket. There’s also Chinese takeaway, a fish and chip shop, two off licenses and a post office opposite the residence.

If you’re fond of your fitness, a gym is only a 10 minute walk from the residence and its doors are open 24/7. There's a good range of classes and competitive student rates for you to take advantage of. There's also the option of joining free weekly park runs from Cannon Hill Park, which is just a 15 minute walk away from your doorstep.

If you're looking for some retail therapy you can take a taxi or a 15 minute bus ride to The Bullring Shopping Centre, which offers a selection of over 160 stores. Alternatively, you can also find your favourite brands and shops in The Mailbox shopping centre, home to well-known fashion retailers such as Harvey Nichols.

Finally, you'll find that all of your utilities are included in your accommodation fees which makes budgeting that little bit easier. There are also laundry facilities, a large common room area and an on site Residence Team dedicated to supporting you during your stay at Liberty Court. The residences are also monitored by CCTV 24/7 meaning that you can feel comfortable and safe during your stay there.

Dominika, a Law graduate from the University, told us what she loved about Liberty Court:

A big advantage of Liberty Court was definitely the proximity of the beautiful Cannon Hill Park, Aldi and the availability of free shuttle buses.  The standard of accommodation was high and the RA’s were great at organising social events both independently and in conjunction with the other accommodation sites

The University benefits from excellent public transport links that provide access to numerous destinations across the UK. For more information about public transport in Birmingham view our website.
