Bars and Clubs

Rosies, 259 – 262 Broad Street. Cheap tickets and go downstairs for UK rap, bashment, afrobeats and American rap. Thursday is the best night to go.

Lab 11, Trent Street (@lab11warehouse). Great DJs, lots of space to dance in and a nice outdoor space too. Great visual effects.

Dirty Martini, (@dirtymartinibirmingham) 7 Bennetts Hill. Pretty interior, great bottomless brunch and happy hour.

Mango Night Club, 42 Bristol Road (@mango_nightclub). Recommend for specific events and concerts.

Cave, Lower Tower Street (@cavebirmingham). Definitely a dressy night out. Great afrobeats, hiphop and events.

Snobs, 200 Broad Street (@snobsnightclub). A room on the second floor of this legendary nightclub plays RnB, pop, rap, hiphop, afrobeats and bashment.

Bambu, 1 Wrottesley Street (@bambubirmingham). Be prepared to queue; this venue is small. Hip hop, afro beats and bashment.

RumRum-Birmingham, 70 Hurst Street (@rumrumbirmingham).

Mama Roux (@wearemamarouxs), Lower Trinity St. Artsy vibe as befits its Digbeth location. Great happy hour deals.

XOYO, Lower Trinity (@xoyobirmingham). Multiple rooms playing different genres. Recommend for rave/EDM-type nights).

Sobar, Hurst Street (@sobarbirmingham). Dancehall, RnB, hip hop.

China White (@chinawhitebirmingham), 30 Ladywell Walk. Pricey. Girls get in for £10. Dress code: heels.

Coded (@codedbirmingham), 90-96 Hospital Road.

Las Iguanas (@lasiguanas), Broad Street, Temple St and Arcadian Centre. Great value cocktails and the bartenders are friendly.

TRIP (@trip.brum). Warehouse vibe with a room devoted to great hip hop, bashment, RnB.

The Alchemist (@thealchemistuk), The Water’s Edge, Brindley Place. Fun, scientific cocktails with great presentation. Recommend the bottomless brunch deal on Saturdays

Litty Committee, different locations. Joint Midlands Afro-Caribbean Society events. Follow @still21degrees and @acsuob on Insta for free and discounted tickets.

21Degrees (@still21degrees) Club nights and day parties at different locations. Afro beats, amapiano and a bit of bashment. Also look out for their parties in association with @vibesinplenty.ent.

Vibes in plenty (@vibesinplenty.ent on instagram). Day parties and nights with afrobeats, dancehall and RnB music. Not always in Birmingham, but when they are it is a great night!
