Belong at Birmingham - Sports and fitness

Step into the vibrant sports and fitness community at University of Birmingham, where there's something for everyone. These recommendations come directly from our Belong at Birmingham students to help you make the most of your time here, whatever your background.
Coming to university I was eager to join football as it was an activity which relieved a lot of stress for me back in London (where I’m from) and was a way for me to relax. Given this new era in my life where there was so much change, I really prioritised this. Although, most of the sports in UoB are majority white this didn’t discourage me as I knew it would still be a fun outlet for me in a new city. It is quite competitive when attempting to get into the teams, but I would recommend it. ACS football is also available for those who feel more comfortable there.
