As part of our continued investment, we're building a striking parkland at the centre of campus, aptly named 'The Green Heart'. The University of Birmingham is a research-intensive university, acknowledged for our commitment to providing outstanding teaching, and producing some of the most employable graduates in the country. Following an outstanding performance in the Quality Assurance Association (QAA) review, in 2017 Birmingham was awarded a Gold rating by the Teaching Excellence Framework, demonstrating our commitment to our students' futures.
We are proud to have produced some of the finest graduates in the country, including Olympic medallists, TV personalities, and we are delighted to count 11 Nobel prize winners among our staff and alumni, including prizes in Chemistry and Physics awarded in 2016.
