Book now for our next on-campus Postgraduate and Professional Education Open Day, on Saturday 24 June 2023, from 12pm - 4pm. Please note that you do not need to book a place for guests.
Most of our sessions can be booked in advance, helping you to plan your events throughout the day. Use our booking form below to register for the main Postgraduate Open Day, where you can also filter, search and select the sessions you want to attend during the day.
To help you find the sessions you are interested in, type the full name of the session as it is written on our website on the timetable. Common search terms, such as Masters/taught or PhD/research are also useful in finding sessions you might be interested in. It's worth trying a few keywords in your subject area. For example, if you are searching for a session about 'Accounting', try related searches like 'Finance' if no sessions come up for your search term.
7 reasons why you should visit our Postgraduate Open Day...
1. Fast-track your postgraduate application
New for our June 2023 Postgraduate Open Day, we will be trialing an admissions fast-track service for a select number of our postgraduate taught programmes. This service will be open to you if you are yet to apply to study with us, or if you already hold an offer to join us in 2023-2024. By booking onto our Admissions drop-in, you can have your course application marked as a priority to receive your potential study offer within five working days, or even be made an offer on the same day as our Open Day! View the 'Admissions Fast-Track' tab towards the top of this page for more information.

2. Tour our campus and facilities
Our Postgraduate Open Day will be taking place on our beautiful 267-acre Edgbaston campus so you will be able to explore and get a feeling for what life at Birmingham may be like. You can choose to take a guided postgraduate campus tour to see highlights of the campus as well as key locations for our postgraduate students. Some of our subject facilities will also be open for you to explore on a bookable tour, such as our School of Computer Science, the Medical School, the Barber Institute of Fine Art and many more!
3. Discover your scholarship and funding options
We have over £1 million's worth of scholarships to support you during your postgraduate studies, such as our £1,500 Postgraduate Progression Award; £2,000 Birmingham Masters Scholarship; and £10,000 Data Science and AI Conversion Scholarships. We will be holding funding talks on the options available to you at both Masters and PhD level, and our student ambassadors will be able to talk to you about how their scholarships have helped them throughout their studies.

4. Meet our Birmingham academics
Our academics will be available to discuss the research and programmes you’re interested in, including modules, course structure and suitability in relation to your previous experience. You can choose to: attend a subject talk to hear more about your programme; visit our academics at a subject drop-in stand; or even book a one-to-one appointment with them to ask any question you may have about postgraduate study at Birmingham.
5. Hear first-hand from current students
Our student ambassadors will share their personal experience of being a postgraduate with you, and can answer your questions about their course, the postgraduate community and life at Birmingham. As they are all current students, our ambassadors are some of the best people to talk to and hear why they decided that the University of Birmingham was the best place for them and their studies.

6. Discover our short courses
Whether you wish to up-skill for a new career, or to simply study something you love, our Microcredentials, Skills Bootcamps and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses offer the perfect opportunity for flexible study. With £3.8 million's worth of scholarships, you can visit us to find out more about our range of partially- and fully-funded programmes.
7. Get advice from Student Support teams
Our Admissions staff can assist you with questions on your application, while our Careers and Funding teams will deliver presentations and advice on what may be available to you. If you're intending to live in student accommodation, you can gain advice from our Accommodation team whether you wish to live in University-owned or privately-owned accommodation.
