Entry requirements
To gain a place at Birmingham you will need to meet our general entry requirements, as well as those specific to your course. Your application will be reviewed by the course’s Admissions Tutor, who will decide whether your application should receive an offer. Applicants will normally require a 2:1 Honours degree in Psychology or a related subject that confers eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC), or a Psychology conversion qualification conferring GBC. A personal statement is required. Where evidence of English-language proficiency is required, IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any band, or an accepted equivalent, is required. Full-time and part-time study are available. Final admissions wording is subject to programme approval and Admissions confirmation; the draft subject-screening and exceptional-entry provisions need alignment with this GBC requirement.
- 2:1 Honours degree
in Psychology that confers Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) from the British Psychological Society.
The course is open only to psychology graduates who are registered with the BPS and who have the Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC status). Candidates will also need to have some prior experience of working in a forensic setting.
