Hear from Zara, BiomedSoc President, as she welcomes future Biomedical Sciences student to their dedicated student society.
Let me introduce you to BiomedSoc, your future student community when you begin your exciting journey in Biomedical Sciences. We’re here to make your university experience both rewarding and enjoyable, helping you make friends, explore your interests, and create lasting memories.
As a society, we organise a range of social events throughout the year, giving you the chance to meet fellow students, unwind outside of lectures, and build friendships. We also host academic and careers-related events to help you explore your interests, develop your knowledge, and discover the many opportunities that a Biomedical Sciences degree can offer.
Most importantly, BiomedSoc is a society for everyone! I really want you all to know that, no matter what kind of person you are, there is a place for you in BiomedSoc. Whether you’re super outgoing and love meeting new people, or you’re a little quieter and take time to come out of your shell, we want you to feel welcome here. You don’t have to be a certain type of person to get involved, and you don’t have to know anyone before you come along to an event. That’s what we’re here for: to bring people together, help you make friends, and create a community where everyone feels like they belong.
We’re so excited to meet you all and help make your first year at Birmingham a memorable one! If you have any questions about Biomedical Sciences, settling into university life, or getting involved with BiomedSoc, please feel free to get in touch. We’d love to hear from you! You can also follow us on social media to keep up with our upcoming events, opportunities, and society updates.
We look forward to meeting you in September and welcoming you into the BiomedSoc community!
Love, Zara Rahman, BiomedSoc President 26/27
