Dedicated teams

Careers Network has five college teams, each made up of careers consultants and careers advisers, an applications adviser, internship officer and careers information officer. Each college team is dedicated to bringing you information, advice and guidance tailored to your specific needs. You’ll find your team in locations within your college as well as at our central hub. We also have specialist advisers enhancing our service provision for international students and those on postgraduate courses. You can benefit from one-to-one advice, take part in group presentations and workshops, and use our comprehensive careers information resources.

Bespoke events

We offer fairs, workshops and events for your subject area, in conjunction with leading local, national and international graduate recruiters, our strong network of alumni contacts and links to professional bodies. Providing up-to-date, sector-specific careers advice to help you make informed career decisions is an essential part of our service.

Work with us

We demonstrate our commitment to work experience by recruiting students to work as part of our team. Our 40-strong student engagement team help us develop, deliver and promote our services: an achievement for which we have been recognised by leading national organisations promoting, supporting and developing quality work experience.

A word from the wise

We facilitate mentoring schemes that allow our students to benefit from the experience of someone working in the career for which they are aiming, or by someone who may have faced similar experiences, challenges or barriers in the past. Our prestigious Alumni Leadership Mentoring Programme offers exceptional students the chance to be mentored by high-profile Birmingham alumni who are now experts in their field.
